Choosing a roofer is one of the biggest decisions a Ham Lake homeowner will make, and the wrong pick can mean leaks, denied insurance claims, or a warranty not worth the paper it’s printed on. To help you find the best roofing companies for your project, we researched contractors that consistently show up in homeowner reviews across Ham Lake and the surrounding area – and if you’re a bit further south, we’ve done the same research for the best roofing companies in St. Paul.
Homeowners here have access to both local roofing companies headquartered in the city and regional contractors based elsewhere in the Twin Cities metro who regularly serve Ham Lake. That means our list includes businesses with a Ham Lake address alongside established metro-wide contractors, since office location often matters less than how well a company serves your home.
How We Selected the Best Roofing Companies for This List
Every contractor on this list met four baseline criteria:
- Actively serves Ham Lake, whether headquartered in the city or elsewhere in the metro
- Has verifiable customer reviews on Google, Yelp, Angi, or the BBB
- Holds an active Minnesota roofing license and carries liability and workers’ compensation insurance
- Regularly performs residential roofing work in the Ham Lake area

Do I Need to Hire a Roofer Based in Ham Lake?
Not necessarily. Several contractors above are headquartered elsewhere in the Twin Cities and still serve Ham Lake reliably. What matters more than a mailing address is response time, licensing, and warranty coverage.
Response Time and Availability
After a hail storm or major wind event, demand for roofing crews spikes across the metro. A contractor with crews nearby, regardless of headquarters, can often reach your home faster than one stretched across a wider territory.
Licensing and Warranty Coverage
Any contractor working on your home should carry an active Minnesota license and a workmanship warranty backed by manufacturer material coverage. A company two towns over with strong licensing and warranty terms beats a local address with neither.
